anti BLOCKING system, not anti braking, if it was anti-braking system, then it wouldn't brake, a common error people make :P

who said ABS thresholds??? ABS releases the brake pressure once a wheel locks then rebuilds the pressure again & so on... this requires the works of a computer, sensors & brake fluid pump as no one can do that as fast as needed
threshold is building just enough brake pressure to brake a wheel so that it is on the verge of locking, this requires accurate judgment of tire grip & brake pedal precision
the difference between how ABS & threshold works is what makes the shorter stopping distance

Your question: Who would think about pressing the clutch when in an emergency situation?
My answer: Everyone that was properly trained how to drive manual shift gear vehicles. It becomes a natural, automatic reaction. Only someone who usually drives automatic gear will use only the break pedal and choke the motor. Let me guess, your car has automatic shifting, right?
